The BON/INTARA Television and Radio Festival and Awards billed to be a significant media gathering that highlights the artistic and technical achievements prevalent in the various areas of radio and television production across the Federal Republic of Nigeria was scheduled to have its maiden edition take place in Asaba, the Delta State Capital in December 2010.  The event had to be rescheduled due to the political developments in Delta State - The Host State for the event.  This International Festival is to bring both local and foreign practitioners together and provide opportunities for communication with international practitioners through the exchange of ideas, experiences and expertise.  Furthermore, the Festival and Awards aims at fostering closer links between professionals to boost radio and television productions, promote inspiring competitiveness and support creative talents.

The inaugural edition of the BON/INTARA TELEVISION AND RADIO FESTIVAL AND AWARDS which was scheduled to have taken place last year will now take place in June 2011.

Over 300 entries were received for the Radio and Television Awards and the short list of the nominees will be released at a media event scheduled to take place in Lagos in May 2011.

The BON/INTARA TELEVISION AND RADIO FESTIVAL AND AWARDS is an annual event that will be regularly organised by the International Network for Television and Radio Advancement (INTARA) and the Broadcasting Organisations of Nigeria (BON). It aims at enhancing quality Radio and Television production and encouraging competitiveness between producers and various parties involved in the production process.  In the light of these, entries for the 2011 edition will open on July 1,  2011 and close September 30, 2011.
